LifeTech Group, a Malaysian cybersecurity services provider, has partnered with Kyndryl to launch the country’s first Security Operations Center (SOC) on a public cloud.
This collaboration aims to help enterprises in Malaysia protect their data while keeping it within the country’s borders on a public cloud. It is expected to reduce security operation costs by up to 40%.
The partnership also enhances LifeTech’s cybersecurity services, allowing customers to assess their cyber resilience, identify vulnerabilities, and meet Bank Negara Malaysia’s (the central bank) data residency requirements.
LifeTech, which serves industries across Southeast Asia—including finance, healthcare, government, manufacturing, e-commerce, retail, telecommunications, and education—will benefit from Kyndryl’s support in transforming its SOC. Additionally, Kyndryl will provide critical cybersecurity services such as threat intelligence, incident response, and managed detection and response.
KK Loh, LifeTech’s chairman and CEO, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating it strengthens the company’s ability to protect Malaysian organizations while ensuring their critical data stays within the country. Loh added that the new SOC platform would help businesses improve cyber resilience, respond to threats swiftly, and navigate the evolving cybersecurity landscape, all while reducing costs.
The new SOC platform will use Kyndryl’s Security Intelligence and Automation framework to improve detection, response, and operational efficiencies for organizations in Malaysia and beyond.
Effendi Azmi Hashim, Kyndryl’s managing director for Malaysia and Indonesia, highlighted the project’s role in introducing global security standards to the region. He said this initiative will help LifeTech deliver more proactive and efficient security operations.
“This partnership is a significant step in addressing Malaysia’s complex cybersecurity challenges,” Hashim said.
